Note From The Editor
During the year I
have been teaching writing to my students, I found that they have some problems
with English terms that are used differently in English than in Korean. For
example, English native speakers will say “Internet café” but in Korean, people
call this a “PC room”. Another example, some people like to go to singing rooms
to sing songs. Without question, most natives will later understand that it
means going to karaoke. I suggest that students should speak more naturally as a
native speaker would. This will make foreigners understand them easily and will
also not prevent impolite expressions or misunderstandings.
Cultural differences
also lend to language differences. There are some English terms that cannot be
directly translated to another language. For example, in my school, every class
will have a class teacher who needs to take care his whole class from morning until
the end of classes. He is the head of the other teachers for this class. He
needs to come in early to check students’ attendance. He may be regarded as a
homeroom teacher in other countries. However, he needs to take responsibility
for students’ behavior and give them guidance for their futures. Here, he may be
seen as students’ counselor. In this case, it is hard to say when to use these
terms. In my opinion, you may use the similar English word but have to give an
explanation to clarify the term for the reader.

There are so many teachers in our school. One of my
favorite teachers is 蔣誠偉.
He looks very scary, but if you
start talking with him you will
learn he is a
kind man. He looks serious, but sometimes
he is very
humorous. There are many students who like him and so do I.
This is time to describe Mr. Chang. He is tall
about 180cm. He is a little bit thin. He is an average man. His face looks very
delicate and handsome. He has been teaching English in school for more than 30
years. I heard that he could sing English songs very well. I think he is the
most popular teacher in our school. We all like Mr. Chang!

He first impressed me a lot, when I was in the second grade of senior
high. He is very tall and has short curly hair. He has a yellow complexion and
a ruddy face (Sorry Sir!). He has a wide forehead, small eyes and small ears. He
is a biology teacher. His name is 李昌錫. He is 27 years
old, but he is not married.
He was so funny in class, particularly his way of talking. He always
spoke with an accent. On the other hand, he explained the textbook in detail.
We could understand it very well. He also counseled about how to get into college
and supplied us with a lot of medical information. In the Biology lab, he did an
interesting experiment. Recently, we experimented on spermatozoon. It was so
marvelous. Moreover, he often bought food for us like pizza, cookies, ja-jiang
noodles, and so on.
Afterwards, when I graduate from senior high school, I must buy him
food. Thank you teacher, I will never forgot you.

My favorite teacher is my high school biology teacher He is a man and his nane is 李昌錫.
He is very attractive. He is much taller than average and has curly
hair. He has a wide forehead and small ears. His nose is short and he has a
square chin. His nickname is” Zzang gu Father” .
I like this teacher because he is different from other teachers’. He
likes students to discuss biology. I like his teaching style because it is different
from others. He tries to find personal solutions to our questions. When I have
any problems I ask him. He talks to me and tries to find a solution to the
problem.
In biology club we do a lot of experiments. A few days ago we had a very interesting
experiment. We observed spermatozoon. It was very interesting, As well, the
teacher often supplies college information for us.
He is very effective and we are
thankful to him. Finally, I hope he is always healthy and happy. Thank you Mr. Lee.

My teacher, 周英姬, impressed me a lot. She is not tall and doesn't wear glasses. Her hair
is short and she is pretty. She is 40 years old; She has a round face, big
eyes. She always dresses well.
She is very open-minded. She is considerate of students and helps them. And
she especially worries when students are late. She worries about the students
getting into college, too.

I like my favorite teacher. Her name is 周英姬. She teaches us English. I like English very
much. She has black hair, big eyes, a small nose, a big mouth and a small face.
She looks like my mother. She has a kind personality. She likes meat, but
I don't think she likes vegetables. Her husband is a teacher, too. He is
handsome. They have two children who are very cute I think they will be very
smart like their parents.

His name is 權相基. He has short, curly black hair. He has small black eyes. He wears
glasses and has a square face. He is taller than me and is taller than average
about 178cm. He is thin.
He was my homeroom teacher in middle school. At that time, I was a
naughty boy but he was very kind and accepted me. Now I look back and I am very
thankful to him. In my opinion, he is a very kind teacher. He taught me a lot
about life.
I will remember him and I will not forget his kindness. I will certainly
return the favor to him. He takes care of me and I appreciate him. After my
graduation, I will visit him again.

In this senior high school I met many teachers and they all have
different personalities. Among them, my favorite teacher is 權相基.
His face is a little square. He has black hair and black eyes. He is of
normal height and wears glasses, I think he must have bad eyes.
I met him when I was a junior high sophomore. He was a kind teacher and
teaches Korean language. When I have a problem with my studies he is kind to
help me and his class is always enjoyable. I like him and when I graduate from
this school I want to see him again.

This teacher was my homeroom teacher Her name is 王五玲. When I studied in middle high-school I respected her
a lot, but I think at that time she had a difficult time in her class. Every
student played in class. For example, students talked and laughed during the
class. She got angry. She has many attributes. She is very intelligent and she
is patient.
She is 160cm tall small eyes, small nose, and short black hair. And She is
kinder than other teachers. When I was in middle school I did not respect her.
But now I do. I often thought about our class. Everybody got along and I will
never forget my friends and especially my teacher.

My favorite teacher is 王五玲. She is so beautiful that I can’t describe it using words. Some people
say she is very photogenic because she looks pretty when she takes pictures.
She is also very smart and she is a member of Mesa. The IQ of People in this
club must be over 140. She is not
only a genius but is also very kind. Her face is very small and she is of
average height.
I really respect her a lot. She was my homeroom
teacher before. She was very patient with me and helped me a lot. She always encourages
me when I felt disappointed. No matter when I was happy or sad, she was there
for me. I appreciate her for this. Finally, I hope she will be healthy and
happy forever.

My favorite teacher's name is 王樂義 He teachers us math. I like math very much.
He is
fat, his belly is very big, and he likes playing pool. His personality is very
good and he likes his students. He has bought us a lot delicious food. The reason
I like this teacher is that he is kind to us. I talk with him with ease. When
he smiles he is so cute. I think he is 50~60 years old His hair is short. He
has white hair. He treats us like friends. I don't think he likes sports. I
hope he lives a long and happy life.
Finally,
I want to say to him, “Even though you don’t teach me now I will never forget
you.” I miss him a lot I'm sorry now that I wasn't kinder to him.

People have their
favorite teachers while they grow up. Most of their favorite teachers are
strict and severe. Most teachers in this school, Seoul Chinese Middle High
School, have their own bat to punish students. One of my favorite teachers is
strict and punishes students with a bat.
When I was studying
in junior high school in Seoul, Korea, I met a math teacher. Although he is kind
of old, he looks kind and young. He sometimes scares us by holding his bat and
walking around. On the other hand, he is very funny and makes us laugh. His
name is 王樂義
I hate math because
math is a very hard subject for me. When I take math tests, I can’t answer the
questions. Because of this, I always get punished by my teacher after every
test. He uses lots of strength. When he hits me with his bat, I can’t describe
the feeling afterwards. However, it hurts a lot. Though, I know he doesn’t want
to hit and hurt me, he punishes me to push myself harder. I really appreciate
him for that. I like math a little bit more because of him.

l had a teacher who taught me in middle school. He is a middle-aged man.
He has short hair and fashionable clothes. His name is 畢可勝. Everybody has the impression that he is terrible when seeing him for
the first time. However, we know that he is kind.
l
met him for the first time as a first year student in middle school. The reason
that l respect him is that he is important in my life. When l didn't understand
something he tried to teach differently. He really inspired me. He is not good
at persuading without a low voice. His loud voice scared me.
He is changing his position, which is different from before. However, he is
still important in my life. l will not forget him until l die. l am going to
respect him forever. Finally, l will love my teacher all my life.
Unforgettable Teacher

My favorite teacher is 王麗荷. She was my
mathematics teacher in middle school.
She has a slim figure and is of average height. She has short, permed
hair. Her lips look like, the singer, Celine Dion’s lips. She always dresses
very neatly and nicely. She is honest. She talks to the students tenderly.
Because of her, my interest in math has grown and my grades have gotten
better. She has been like a mother to me. Although she has never been my
homeroom teacher, She has taken care of me. Because of her, I was able to gain
confidence.
She trusted me, so I worked harder. We have grown very close, even
without speaking by just looking at each other we know what the other person is
thinking. I think it’s a real love between a teacher and a student!!
Unforgettable Teacher

In school, I met my unforgettable teacher six years ago. Her name is 王麗荷. She has short
hair. She is over 40 years old. She is very kind and she is very intelligent in
math. I like her because she doesn't get angry with me. And I really like her
teaching style. She is kind to me.
I respect her. Some other math teachers are kind and good, too. But Mrs. Wang did something special for
me.
I have a plan.
I'll make a fortune and I'll meet her again. When I came to senior high school.
I couldn't meet my favorite teacher. It was so stressful. This is my last semester.
I will do well for her. I want to meet her and talk to her. Finally, I hope she
has a happy life and is healthy and keeps helping students.

My favorite teacher is my father. His name is 譚道經. He has a round face, big eyes, a big nose and a big mouth. He is a little
heavy; He has dark skin and dark,
wavy hair. Many people say we look alike. He is very humorous and always makes
me laugh.
He doesn’t teach me at school, but he always talks to me. In this
conversation I can gain a lot of knowledge about study and life. Sometimes he
is like a friend and is very kind to me. He often settles my problems. When I
make bad mistakes, he is strict and scolds me.
He always sacrifices a lot for me and for my family. I often feel bad
for him. I often lose my temper for nothing but he always understands me. I am
very thankful to him. He loves me very much, no words can describe it. I also
love my father. I will study hard and make a lot of money and return his
favors.

I don’t have any favorite teacher. But when I was
in the second grade year. I did like my music teacher. Her name is 楊菊順.
She is good at playing the piano. She is the only
music teacher in our school so I like her very much.
Even though she is old her mind is young. She is
funny in class so I want to be a musician like her when I am older. I heard
that she is my grandmother’s age but she looks younger than her age. I hope I
can become a music teacher like her soon.

When I was in first grade in high school I was taught by a special
teacher. Her name is 徐麗顔. She is a History teacher in our school. She has a average face. She
has short, curly hair and wears glasses. She likes to play and talk with her
students.
She likes to talk about morality. When I think of her, a word comes to
my mind---morality. She usually talks about morality when she teaches us
History. One day I thought of her words. She said that we live in the world, we
should think that morals are more important than material things. If everyone
thought like that, there would be no wars in the world. After I listened to
these words I started to think like her. She doesn’t only teach us History but
also a philosophy of life. She always inspires me to think about my attitudes
towards my own life. She really influenced me a lot.
She deals with everything through values. Whenever and wherever she is,
she gives us confidence and makes us confident. I really respect her and like
her teaching style.

H2-1 徐吉全
There are many teachers whom have taught me. I have many favorite
teachers, especially my Geography teacher. Her name is 夏薇薇. She is one of the most popular teachers with the students. She taught
me from when I was in second grade in junior high school until now.
Mrs. Shia is a wonderful teacher. She has taught History and Geography
for two decades. Although she is tired and sleepy, she teaches students well.
Her hard working has caused her face to wrinkle, but her sweet smile makes up
for it. She is as pretty as an angel. She has curly, thin, short hair. She is
about 160 cm tall and has a healthy looking body.
At first, I was not interested in Geography. It was just a hard and
boring subject. After I was taught by her, Geography became interesting and
easier. Because of her, I enjoy Geography a lot.
To sum up, Mrs. Shia is a good teacher, indeed. She told us how to study
History and Geography. So I will always be thankful to her forever.
Star Gazing

Last weekend I went to observe the stars with stargazer association
members who met over the Internet. Before our observation, the sky was clear
and the stars were twinkling. In the morning of that day, the sky turned
cloudy, stars would no longer show their light. However, I still insisted on
observing the stars that morning. Unfortunately, the sky was not very clear. It
was impossible to observe the stars. Everybody was disappointed, but the mood
started to improve. Everybody stared to play games and most of as fell asleep
afterwards. The next morning we packed up our equipment to go back to our
homes. Even though I could not see the stars clearly, next time I’ll see the
Milky Way in the sky.
A TRIP of SHANGHAI

For
my winter vacation my family went to Shanghai, from 30th Dec~ 2nd Jan 2002
On
the first morning we went to the airport and took an airplane and went to
Shanghai, It took us 1 hour to get there, it really is a wonderful city. We
took a bus from Shanghai and went to Hangzhoun, we could see some old houses
there.
Several
hours later we arrived at one temple of Hangzhoun, Liuhe Tower, then Giangtang Lake.
We took some pictures than went to a restaurant for dinner. After dinner we
went to the hotel.
The
next morning we ate breakfast. After breakfast, we went to West Lake to take a
boat and went to the gift shop. After that we went to Yue-Wang Temple. There we
saw the historical hero, Yue-Fei. Next we went to Liu Garden of Suzhoun. There
we took some beautiful picture, and went to the beach in Shanghai. We could see the East Pearl Tower. The beach
looked like the harbor in New Year. At night, we rang in the New Year by taking
pictures and setting fireworks.
The
following day was the first day of 2002, we took a bus and went to Yu Garden. There
we wore Chinese clothes and took pictures, then went to the East Pearl Tower
again to eat lunch and go shopping. Afterwards we took a bus and went to Na-Jing
road to buy presents. At 6:00~7:00, we went to a restaurant for dinner, then my
friend, my young sister and l went back to the hotel for our last night in
Shanghai.
After we ate breakfast, on our last morning there, we took the plane back
home.
We
flew from Shanghai to Pusan then to Cheju Island. I was very tired and l went
back home to sleep in no time. This trip was unforgettable!!!
Snowboarding and My
Winter Vacation

This winter break was very special to me.
Everyday was fun and exciting. Especially when I went to see a movie with all
of my family for the first time in my life.
In January, I went to a ski resort with
my friends. It was the last break during my high school. I thought I would
regret it if I did not take a trip with my friends. We made lovely memories together.
The place was called " Seong Woo Resort". One of my friends has a
membership there. We could stay for 2 nights with discounted rates. We tried to
learn how to snowboard. It was so hard that we collapsed over 70 times!!! No
kidding!!! The next morning, we could not even move our fingers. Every time we
moved, we could not say a word but moan because of the pains. I shouted
"Ouch~!!"
"Oops!!"
"Oh~ my god!!
I saw the movie "The
Lords of the Rings" during vacation. I was really glad to see that movie,
which I had wanted to see. Moreover, my family went to see the movie all
together for the first time. My parents are always busy and have no time to go
out but not this time. This was the first time for my family to watch a movie
together and may be it will be the last. Anyway it was a great memory for me.
The Snowboarding
Trip

During this vacation, I went snowboarding for the first time in my life.
On January 16, my six friends and I went to Kang-Won-Do to go
snowboarding. We stayed there for 2 days. My goal was to master the snowboard in
2 days.
We arrived at the condominium around 12, and we rented the snowboards.
After lunch, we took the board to slopes and practiced. I had never tried
before, so it was very hard for me to even to stand on the ground. Two of my
friends and I had trouble but the others did very well. They taught us how to
get our balance and we did it!! At last, we were not only standing but also
able to move slowly. We were very proud of ourselves. We were very excited but
it was raining so we went to the condominium. Before we slept, we prayed to God
to give us fine weather for the next day.
The next day, we woke up very early and opened the curtains. It was
snowing. It was a perfect day for snowboarding. We went up the chair lift and
looked down. I was scared to go down but I didn't want to give up. I tried to
remember how I had done the day before and went down the slope. Of course, I
fell down right away. I tried again and again. Finally, I could go without
stopping.
After lunch, my friends taught me how to turn. It was harder than
standing and moving. I don't know how many times I fell down. I did it just one
time by accident but I was very satisfied. We had a small party to celebrate our last trip of
senior high school at night. We ate some food and chatted. We had a fantastic
night!!
I had never tried a sport like snowboarding. It was very exciting. I
won't forget this snowboarding trip.
Christmas
H3-4 冷宜學
“Silent night~♬ Holy night~♪…”,This is the
song for praising Jesus’ birth. Christmas is the day Jesus was born. On
Christmas day, people get together along to celebrate the holy birth of Jesus.
Most people know Christmas as the day Santa Claus gives presents to children
who behave well. Christmas has become the day on which people give presents to
those who they are thankful and love. Personally, I think everyone loves it for
this reason and can’t wait to celebrate it.
On Christmas day 2001, I was with my girlfriend.
We went to the movie theater to watch the famous fantasty movie “Harry Potter
and the Philosopher’s Stone.” The movie tickets were all sold out. Fortunately,
I already reserved the tickets a week before. After the movie, we ate pasta and
spaghetti, which were very delicious. I wish I was born in Italy, because I
could eat Italian food at every meal. We also went to a photo shop to take a
picture. The picture was better than we thought. It looks like other people,
not us. I’m amazed by the technology of photo shop! In my opinion, it is great
to take as many pictures as you can. As time goes by, only memories and
pictures will be left by our side. Without these valuable memories, life will
become lonely.
Christmas is special to everyone, during the cold
winter; Christmas gives people a warm feeling. I hope everyone will be happy
not just on Christmas day, but also on everyday. With this years Christmas
memories, I’m waiting for next Christmas. Finally, I want to say “Merry
Christmas” to everyone!
Christmas

I think my winter vacation started on Christmas Eve.
It didn’t
snow much on New Year Eve day as I had expected.
However, I
still had a lot of fun with my family. I went to my hometown for my vacation. I
didn’t stay long thought. I soon returned to Seoul. When I came home, I could
see the Christmas tree lit with beautiful and colorful lights in the living
room. That was a total surprise for me because we rarely had a Christmas tree.
That moment, I felt " I’m really glad to be home" This was only the
beginning.
Time went quickly as a river. I always thought having fun was more
important than homework but I had made up my mind to study hard.
My vacation was slipping away. I still wish my vacation could be longer
but it seemed like it was time for me to go back to school and do my work. I
was happy with myself on what I did during the vacation. This holiday was not
as exciting as others. But, I was satisfied with my holiday. I As Alexander Wolcott
wrote" There is no such thing in anyone’s life as an unimportant day,
meaning that even if my holidays were boring, still, every day was valuable.

My best memory is going to the English
institute.
As soon as the vacation began I played at home
all day so my parents said, " Do not just watch TV at home!! It is bad for
your health. You need to be active, and you need to learn something during this
vacation." My sister also said, " You have to learn TOEIC or TOEFL.
It is very important when you enter university." I had never heard about
TOEIC. English is a spoken language so it is not too hard to learn, when you
get into business, your ability is estimated by the TOEIC grade. It is for
businessmen. TOEFL is the knowledge of English. The content and words of TOFEL
are more difficult. You have to have common sense more than precise language
skills. It is helpful to study abroad. I thought TOEIC was proper for me, I
decided to learn that.
I looked for an institute near my house, but I
could not find one. I had heard that there is a Pagoda English institute in Iisan,
so I went there.
TOEIC has listening comprehension and reading
comprehension. I decided to learn listening comprehension. I had to buy a book.
Fortunately, the book was the same as my sister's. I was so lucky, because the
book was expensive. I waited until the institute opened. Finally, opening day
came. I was excited to enter the classroom but there were only six students. I
thought to myself " Today is only the first class, so some student have
not come." The rest of the students were all university students. The
teacher was very kind and capable. I hoped many students would come the next
day. As time went by the number of students became less and less.
One day, I went to the English institute, only
two students came, including me. The teacher's face turned pale and said,
" What happened? Oh, my.." But he still continued the class. He
looked a little angry.
The next day was the climax day.. Nobody came!
Nobody! Not anybody... just me. I cried in my mind, " Oh∼ my goodness!!" The teacher said to me,
" You had better change the time for your class, if you can. Please change
the time to ten o'clock." So I just smiled. While we studied, the
atmosphere was so cold. I was the only person to answer the teacher's
questions. I could not endure that time. We talked to each other for a long
time, so we became friendly.
The next day, I changed the time of my class.
There were many students, about fourteen. Now I could study English so hard.
The next month, we would begin school, so I could not learn any more. I learned
many things in one month. I appreciate my teacher. I did not have time to say
good-bye to him.
My winter vacation left a deep impression on me.
My Winter Vacation

I had a good time during the winter vacation. I did not do anything this
Christmas. I watched TV all day and ate instant noodles at dinner.
The other day I went camping with my movie club members. We went there by
bus. The destination was the Seoul Movie Photographic Studio. There is a lot of
movie making equipment and we got to on a tour.
On Monday the 20th, I went skiing with my family. This was my first time in
my life. I was very happy.
I had a lot of free time in this vacation. So I played at the Internet
cafe everyday and usually met my good friends. They like to go singing. So we
went singing a lot but I didn't sing very well.
On New Year's Day I received a lot of money and ate a lot of food. I also
went to the movie called " Black Hawk Down ". That movie was good. I
had good time in this holiday.
I regret that I didn't study at all this vacation.

This
vacation was more profitable than other vacations. This vacation. I did so many
things. I got a motorcycle and I learned to paint and use some computer
programs. The computer programs were Photo Shop and Flash. I study these things
because I want to go to Art School. I was able to earn a lot of money. I worked
at my fater's restaurant Although I was very tired all day, I got paid so I was
very proud of myself. I will definitely have a new plan this year to study
computer and painting.

the university of my choice.
My Winter Vacation

This is my last vacation in high school. Winter vacation lasted two
months. It was a long time, but it meant a lot to me because next year I will
be a freshman in university.
To celebrate the New Year, many relatives gave presents to my parents. They
all came to my home and all the family got together to have fun. I especially
liked the New Year's party. On New Year's day Koreans eat rice-cake soup. It is
very delicious.
A few days later, my friends and I went to Cine valley together. Cine
valley is a famous place in Korea. Many movies are filmed there. It took us 2 hours
to go there by bus. We started from the Cheongnyangni station. The weather was
very cold but we still had fun.
From now on, I will study hard and obey my parents. If my dreams come
true, I will help the needy.
My winter vacation

This winter vacation was not very fun because I worked in my father’s
Chinese restaurant. I was very tired. I had to get up early in the morning, but
every day I got up late. I went to my father’s restaurant around one clock. It
was very late. By that time, many people were in the restaurant. I was very busy
and worked all day. This vacation was too hectic to take a rest.

We had a long winter vacation. During the vacation I played computer game every day.
We had 40 days of vacation. I didn’t know what to do so every day I played
computer, watched TV and hung out with my friends. The vacation wasn’t fun,
though.
Sometimes I did homework and sometimes I went shopping in December 2001.
Many friends and I went with our teacher to Yang-Su-Li. That is where a movie
was filmed. We had a lot of fun, we had planned to go to Munggung in Feb but we
didn’t have enough time to go. I just stayed at home until school started again.

went to “Seoul Tower”. We boarded a cable car to go to The Tower’s observation
platform to stand and look at the night sky. It was so beautiful!!

friends to play baseball at school. I have all the baseball equipment so we can
play without getting hurt. It was cold, but we didn’t care about that. It was

strange…It was hard to fall asleep… Is it because I spent too much time playing
on the computer? I have to limit the time I spend on the computer.

Today is New
Year’s Day. Our family went to my grandfather’s house. We did a New Year’s bow
to my grandparents. I received money given in return for a New Year’s bow. Then
I ate Dukguk, and played a game of yut . It was fun.

Year’s Day. I will see all of my family. My cousins will come and I’ll be so
glad see them. We’ll perform an ancestral sacrifice, everyone is busy. After
the event we’ll have a New Year’s party.

My Winter Vacation

I like winter very much because of vacation,
Christmas and so on. This New Year my family went to JE JU Island. My brother
and I were very excited; because it was our first time to visit JE-JU-Island. My
family stayed on Cheju Island for 5 days we had a good time! We made many good memories.
My winter vacation was very simple. In the
morning I woke up late I got up right away to eat breakfast and sit in front of
the computer. Sometimes I played games and sometimes I did homework. One day my
old friend came to my home and said, "Let's go to Seoul to have fun and go
sight seeing". So my brother and I went to Seoul. He said "Tomorrow
you will play against me in Star Craft, Diablo and Rainbow6, so we agreed.
One day my uncle came from Taiwan because he
wanted to spend his lunar New Year in Korea. He is very kind and he bought
gifts for as and when he returned to Taiwan he gave us money. I think this New
Year was a very good New Year. I hope the next one is even better!

There is a special day in every month. For example, the first day of
January
means the new year is coming.
February has Valentine’s Day, March has White Day and Christmas falls in
December. Every December I wait anxiously for Christmas! At that time, I
usually go out to buy presents for my family. I often feel bad because I spend
too much money buying my family presents. When the night comes, my mother cooks
wonderful food and my father buys me a nice cake.
The whole family gets together and has a nice time eating delicious
food. I think other families share a happy time like us. Next year, I hope to
be with someone special!!
The Journey of My Winter vacation

First day: I enjoyed playing computer games at
home, but I also had to do my vacation homework too. My brother and I went out for dinner and then went shopping. After that we went home and help
parents. Tonight, my parents and I
were very happy, because I had helped them.
Second day: Today we went to my grandparents’ home. At my grandparents’ house, we usually enjoy
a good meal because my grand parents love us. They usually give us good food and buy ice cream for us.
Tonight, my brother and I slept at our grandparents’ home. Today was a nice day.
Third day : During my winter vacation, I was hoping to not have homework. But our teachers gave us assignments. I
think having homework is a bad idea.
Our teachers should not give us homework.
Fourth day: Outside the snow was falling; I looked at the snow and felt
very happy. I went outside and
played in the snow. Sometimes we
even ate the snow. It was not
dirty, but it was not good to eat.
I was very happy.
Sixth day: Over the winter vacation, my friend and I went to Internet
cafe to chat and play games. We
hand a lot of fun. We played a computer game over the
Internet called `Lineage`. This
game was very interesting. Many
people can play the game and it is played all over world.

During the winter break many things happened to me. After this break I
will be graduating so I tried to go many places. I went to China. In Shanghai I saw many things, and ate
a lot of delicious food. It was a lot of fun. I stayed at a place called Tea
Ho. I felt that this break was too short for me.
This Lunar New Year was different. I don’t know why but it was very
lonely. My family was busy meeting other people. I went shopping and when I
came home it was not very quiet. This New Year was not as fun as last year. I
used the pocket money that I received. I treated my friends to dinner. I tried
to make many memories with my friends but I couldn’t.
Before I graduate I want to make many new memories. If not I will be
unhappy. This year I’m making a homepage. It’s not yet complete, but when I’m
finished I will show it to everyone.
I don’t have many skills, but I am working hard on my homepage. I hope
every body likes it. This break was special for me because it will be my last
winter break before my high school graduation. I should make many more memories
with my friends and other people for my last year of high school so that I won’t
have any regrets.

winter vacation meant a lot to me. I went skiing with my friends. We had a lot
of fun. It was a lot of fun to go to the ski resort. I spent a lot of time with
my friends. We shared the costs. We went snowboarding and I fell the first
time. Time passed so quickly but we only had a few days there before returning
to Seoul.
I returned for New Year's Day to visit my relatives .I received many
gifts of money. I saved my money.
My friend and I have many good memories before graduation. It was my most

Today is
Christmas. I can see snow coming down from the sky. We are having a white
Christmas. I went to church early in the morning. Many things had to be
prepared. (There were many people there to celebrate the birth of Jesus). I
attended the church service and came back home at around 1:00 p.m.
I had promised to meet
my boyfriend. We wanted to go the CGV movie theater. We were looking forward to
seeing "Harry Potter" but it was already sold out. We then bought tickets to see
"Monster’s Inc.". It was very enjoyable. Afterward, we went out for
dinner. We ate steak at the Outback restaurant. That restaurant is very
expensive but I like it so we had steak. It was very delicious. Then we went
Ewha Woman’s University for a walk. After the walk we went back to our homes. Then
I used the computer. When I checked my e-mail, there was a mail from my friend.
In her letter she wished me a Merry Christmas so I wrote her back. I hope to
have a great Christmas again next year.
